The challenge

"We need a document that can effectively communicate our collective impact to all of our stakeholders"

"We lack documentation and many of our staff are retiring soon"

Facing an increasing rate of staff turnover due to retirement and the shifting employment market, documentation was required to efficiently and effectively communicate key information to serve as an on-boarding tool and drive increased engagement among the team.

Data strategy + data synthesis + data storytelling

Collaborated with a diverse team of approximately 150, across 3 campuses in 3 cities to produce the SFU Facilities Services inaugural Annual Report (2014).

Collecting, analyising, synthesising and visualising data into meaningful and insightful information

The outcome

To improve employee engagement among a diverse team and accelerate the on-boarding process for new employees, the FS Annual Report was the first report to showcase in one document how the department functioned between teams and roles and how the department as a whole aligned to SFU's strategic plans, vision, and mission to "Engage the World."
